About
The Big Diversity Challenge Series
The Big Diversity Challenge series of events was developed to provide an opportunity for industry organisations to experience a unique way to promote the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion in their workforce.
There is an age old saying – ‘variety is the spice of life’ – and this couldn’t be more true than in the workplace. Companies who actively promote equality, diversity and inclusion will thrive and people of all backgrounds can come together and achieve success.
Over recent decades barriers have been broken down and, as a society, we have come to realise and accept that not everyone fits the same mould. As a nation we are a diverse mix of genders, abilities and beliefs; so fundamentally it should follow that all employers embrace the wealth of talent available when recruiting and retaining staff.
The Big Construction Diversity Challenge has been specifically designed to promote the importance of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) across the construction sector.
The event brings together industry professionals to look at how diversity can be tackled collaboratively and collectively through physical and mental team-building challenges.
It is also an opportunity for organisations to share best practices, network, team build and help shape a more inclusive sector… while recognising and rewarding employees with an adventurous day of fun.
By showcasing and emphasising the positive difference diversity brings to the industry
By bringing together a cross section of today’s industry, from undergraduates to CEOs
By promoting your organisation’s own message for a more diverse and inclusive workforce
By opening doors for those looking for a career in your industry: ‘the industry’s future’
The next Big Construction Diversity Challenge returns on 18 June 2026 at Newark Showground.

“People may be said to resemble not the bricks of which a house is built, but the pieces of a picture puzzle, each differing in shape, but matching the rest, and thus bringing out the picture.”
Felix Adler, Political and Social Professor
